Education & Training
Dr. Bala grew up in Redlands, California, and is a native of the Inland Empire. After graduating at the top of her class, she was accepted to Washington University in St. Louis. During college, she received several awards and graduated with honors.
She took an active role in community service both locally and abroad. Dr. Bala moved to Richmond, Virginia to attend medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University.
After four years of medical school, Dr. Bala was chosen from a highly competitive field of applicants to complete her ophthalmology medical and surgical training at the world-famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Mayo Clinic is consistently ranked the number one hospital for health care by US News and World Report. Dr. Bala holds the highest regard for the Mayo values of providing excellent care and always putting the patient first.
After residency, Dr. Bala completed an advanced fellowship in minimally invasive and traditional glaucoma surgeries at UC Davis Medical Center. During her training at Davis, she was able to join several colleagues on a mission trip to Kumasi Ghana with the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital to teach and perform specialized eye surgeries. Upon completing her advanced training, she returned to Mayo Clinic and served as a faculty member at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After living in Minnesota for seven years, she moved back to the Inland Empire.
In her spare time, Dr. Bala enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and family. She loves cooking, playing tennis, and being outdoors.

Dr. Bala has written numerous peer-reviewed articles and is considered an expert in her field. She has been able to present at conferences throughout the nation.
Dr. Bala started her private practice in Fontana, California in order to provide the highest level of care for her patients and the most cutting-edge therapies.
